Coming Together Through Music

A Variety of Instruments to Learn!

Lessons are offered for trumpet and piano.  A variety of methods are offered for each instrument; please see below for the most frequent methods used. I also provide very flexible lessons in which a method book is not always required, depending on the needs and interests of the individual.

Did you know that your child can earn high school credits for completing RCM exams?

Regardless if the student is using a method book or not, additional songs are provided. I ask students to come up with a list of songs they want to learn throughout the year, such as movie or tv themes, pop songs, jazz pieces, etc. Since it is not always possible to find arrangements at the level of the student, I arrange and transcribe pieces for my students.

If you are interested in learning an electronic instrument, I also offer DJ lessons!

Play-based Music Lessons

My lessons are filled with play-based activities. I modify activities found in other method books, as well as create my own.

DJ Booth

DJ Lessons

Learning to DJ is a great way to learn a modern electronic instrument without feeling the pressure of "practicing." I never thought I would be a DJ: It was a hobby I picked up because I met some friends who Dj'd and I thought it would be fun to learn an electronic instrument. Turns out, I found this incredibly fun and I never felt the pressure to practice! DJing can not only provide you with endless enjoyment at home and with friends, but could also potentially lead to career opportunities. When I was a house DJ at EL Furniture Warehouse, I was an employee (not contract) and made $25/hr with a $50 tab every shift. The manager heard about me from some friends, found me on Facebook and asked me to come into the restaurant for an interview. I went in for an interview, was thrown on the decks in front of a restaurant full of people eating lunch, and I was hired on the spot. I offer this service because as mentioned, music should always be fun!! For some, learning a traditional instrument is too overwhelming, but sometimes an electronic instrument can spark a love for music that lasts a lifetime too!
