Since moving back to Sudbury, I have had the pleasure of playing with the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra as the third trumpet part for several performances. The weekend before last was opening night for the 2024/2025 concert season for the Orchestra. There were two pieces with a third trumpet part: the Nimrod Variation by Elgar, and Finlandia by Sibelius. There was a matinee performance at 2pm and evening concert at 7:30pm.
Rossini Barber of Seville Overture
Beethoven Symphony No. 5, 1st movement
Mozart Symphony 41 Finale
Strauss Jr. An der schönen blauen Donau
Bizet Habanera
Pachelbel Canon in D
Elgar Nimrod variation
Sibelius Finlandia
Brahms Symphony No. 2, Allegro con spirito
Here is a photo of the trumpet section for this concert:

The previous performances I have participated in include:
1) Waltz This Way (March 2023)
2) Celebrating John Williams (April 2024)
This was a concert packed with very difficult music that required a lot of endurance: with even the third trumpet part reaching high C several times in the Jurassic Park theme song! In order to have the lip strength to play this program, I built up strength by playing 3 hours a day for a month and a half before the concert.
